How to practice

The best way to learn Wuji Yuan Gong is doing it step by step, slowly immersing yourself in the practice.
Learn the movements first.
What is most important is that you allow your body to relax and that the different parts of your body move in harmony and are synchronised.

Whether the movements are big or small, fast or slow is immaterial.
Simply follow your feeling.
Be natural.
Movements become natural and automatic with regular practice.
In time, as you do the movements, as you relax the body more and more, you will begin to feel your qi flow.
In TCM, it is qi that leads the blood, that rules the blood.

Qi leads the blood

Now what is it that rules the qi?

It is the power of an open heart.

Do not practice the movements only as exercise.
The contemplations that accompany the movements complete the practice.
Understanding the contemplations and practising with feeling help deepen your experience of the movements and vice versa.
It is this that opens the heart, that provides the key to open the door into a life of perfect well-being.

In the beginning of the practice, the mind leads the qi.
Afterwards, as you practice regularly, you begin to notice that it is the qi that leads the mind.
It is then that the practitioner learns to listen to the qi, to follow the qi, to follow the natural way of the heart.
So, when you listen to the qi and allow it to flow, your life too begins to flow with ease and you return to the natural state of wholeness.....

Fourth Movement
QUI ER GAZING AT THE MOON

Focus the eye
On the moon in the sky
The heart is still
A healthy body, a healthy spirit.

You understand yourself completely - no regrets
The body is purified and you know what love is
You bring yourself to Heaven
A healthy body, a healthy spirit.

The light from the moon, so beautiful, so clean
can transform your character, can purify your body
Long illness leads to inactivity
Doing nothing leads to illness.

To understand the spirit of Heaven,
Always gaze at the beautiful moon
Free of worries, your body is healthy
You can then serve others.

Sheng Zhen Teacher Training
Sydney, Australia
January 15 - 24, 2018

“Hold the lotus and cross the ocean.
The lotus in each hand points in the direction of purity and love.
The ocean beneath you has both hope and suffering.
Just as the waves move up and down, so does life.
As the waves of hope and suffering overlap in life,
they weave together to become your fate.
The ocean here is a metaphor.
Its meaning depends on which direction you are moving.
Like a lantern, the pure, the bright lotus in each hand, shows the way.”
